The Washington State Bike, Walk, Roll Summit Today and Monday, with two sessions Today at 12:30 and 3:00.  

At the Summit on Monday, local politicians, planners and advocates will discuss Centering Community in East Central Spokane, addressing the neighborhood’s position in the midst of major transportation infrastructure projects including the North Spokane Corridor, changes to I-90 including new pedestrian crossings, a proposed non-motorized land bridge by Liberty Park, and the Children of the Sun Trail.

You can still register at any point during the conference, and this year’s registration is free.

At Monday’s 6pm Legislative Meeting, the City Council will consider an Emergency Ordinance relating to the regulation of activities under Spokane Municipal Code, including potential removal of the City’s bicycle helmet mandate. Agenda here.

Learn something new: Mobycon explains how to Make Cycling Great. On Thursday, October 13, NextCity will host a webinar on How Cities Can Move Faster to change streets. On Friday, October 14, Portland State University will host a virtual seminar about Bringing Complete Streets to Reality in State Transportation Projects.
