Upcoming Week of 1.3.2022

Upcoming Active Transportation meetings, surveys and news for the week starting 1.3.22.

Project of the Week: Chestnut Elm Neighborhood Greenway Study

–          This studyt explores possibilities for a Neighborhood Greenway in the West Central neighborhood. A “Neighborhood Greenway ” is a low-volume, low-speed neighborhood street improved for walking and bicycling with crossing improvements, traffic calming, and wayfinding in the form of signs and symbols. This project will link the Centennial Trail with AM Cannon Park and the West Central Community Center, as well as neighborhood destinations along the way.

–          Concept designs will focus on two potential routes: Chestnut Street or Elm Street, between the Centennial Trail and Maxwell Avenue. Based on community feedback, the study will identify a preferred route for further design, funding and eventually construction.
