  • Fall Leaf Festival at Finch Arboretum – Saturday October 18 @ 11am
    • This annual family event gives everyone a chance to play in the leaves, celebrate trees, check out vendors and explore the Arboretum – stop by the City of Spokane planning booth!
  • Bicycle Advisory Board at City Hall – Tuesday October 21 @ 6pm
    • Public Meeting – open to all!
  • Division Transit Oriented Development Open House at The Wonder Building – Wednesday October 22 @ 6pm
    • Drop-in style – arrive any time during the event to talk with project staff and provide comments on illustrations of potential future development along Division St.

City Projects

  • PlanSpokane 2046
    • The ongoing PlanSpokane 2046 Periodic Update provides Spokane an opportunity to update our community’s vision for the next twenty years.
  • Freya Bike Path
  • Lincoln Street Protected Bike Lanes – Post Street Bridge to Maxwell
    • Protected Bike Lanes are under construction north of the Post Street Bridge.
  • Maxwell Avenue – Pettet to Walnut Bike/Pedestrian Safety Upgrades
    • Improvements include new sidewalks, buffered bike lanes, and crosswalk enhancements to better connect the West Central Neighborhood with AM Cannon Park, the West Central Community Center, and the Centennial Trail.

New Contra-Flow Bike Lane on Post Street – Friday April 25, 2025

Updates related to walking, biking, and rolling in Spokane.

Project Updates

Today, Friday April 25, a new bike lane connection opens on Post Street in downtown Spokane. The City’s first contra-flow bike lane provides a new connection from the Post Street Bridge southward to westbound bike lanes on Spokane Falls Boulevard.  Stop by and try it out this weekend!

Mayor’s Bike to Work Day – 2025!

May is National Bike Month and Bike Everywhere Month in Spokane, and Wednesday May 14 is Bike Everywhere Day in Washington State!

Join Mayor Lisa Brown for a morning bicycle ride on Wednesday May 14 at 7:30am from the West Central Community Center, as part of National Bike to Work Week and Bike Everywhere Month in Spokane.  Chat with staff from WA Bikes and Cascade Bicycle Club, Washington’s statewide bicycle advocacy organization, as well as  elected leaders, local advocates, and City staff during a scenic ride through Spokane.

Mayor’s Bike to Work Day Ride

  • When: Wednesday, May 14 – 7:30am to 8:30am
  • Where: 1603 N. Belt Street. Meet at the corner of Belt Street and Spofford Avenue, at the West Central Community Center. Ride starts at 7:30 a.m.
  • Details: Join Mayor Lisa Brown to ride the Centennial Trail to City Hall, where you can grab coffee and donuts, and talk with us about the next phase of Spokane’s journey as a Bicycle-Friendly City.
